Besakih Temple, situated in Besakih Village, Rendang District, within the Karangasem Regency of Bali, Indonesia, forms an intricate temple complex. The complex encompasses a Central Temple known as Besakih Penataran Agung Temple and an assemblage of 18 Companion Temples, including the Basukian Temple and 17 others. Notably, the Basukian Temple is historically significant as it is believed to be where Hyang Rsi Markendya, an important figure in the early Hindu Dharma Religion in Bali, received the initial divine revelation, making it the spiritual epicenter of the site.
